Used in thousands of solar installations around the world, Sun Ballast’s racking systems are today the simplest and fastest solution for solar installations on flat roofs. The ballasted racking systems are composed of a single element, reinforced concrete, and function as both the ballast and the racking: the lack of metal components to assemble makes installation extremely simple, and with no need to penetrate the roof with anchoring holes, there is no risk of damaging the protective roofing membrane.
The 82 kW system shown in this photo was installed with great professionalism by our customer, Simple Power Solar in Reno (Nevada, United States) using our 10° Connect system: the grid configuration – that is, connecting all the ballasts in a single network of racking – doesn’t only evenly distribute the weight throughout the roof, but also guarantees extremely high resistance to all atmospheric agents. If the system’s resistance needs to be further reinforced, or if the modules used are particularly large, just add No-Flex: this special kit offers two additional clamping spots in the center of the module, and can be installed very quickly, resulting in an even more solid and safe solar installation.
Like all Sun Ballast racking systems, those used for this system are also made with very high quality cement, able to resist any type of corrosion or thermal shock, and have pre-cast threaded inserts where you can easily fix the modules.
Lightweight, ultra-reliable, and built to withstand extreme weather—the Connect System revolutionizes ballasted racking by integrating all supports into a reinforced, wind-resistant network. This interconnected design minimizes roof load while maximizing stability and durability.
